Thomas Warner, P.E., Owner

Tom Warner is personally involved with the management, design and coordination of engineering projects from start to finish. Tom is a licensed professional engineer with more than eleven years of experience as a project designer and manager. He has worked on numerous developments throughout Central Ohio, including many single and multifamily projects, as well as major commercial centers across the region.

Prior to founding Advanced Civil Design, Tom was the Vice President of Land Development for a residential builder. With a complete understanding of the development process, Tom prepares presentations and represents client interest before governing councils and commissions in support of zoning applications and other actions requiring public approval.

Tom is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He is a member of the American Society of Engineers and the Building Industry Association of Central Ohio.
 

James Whitacre, P.E., Owner

James is personally involved with the management, design and coordination of engineering projects from start to finish. He is a licensed engineer with more than eight years of experience as a project designer and manager. James has personally designed some of  the largest commercial and residential developments in Central Ohio including retail centers, industrial parks and many multi and single family residential developments.

Through his involvement with large scale projects, James has significant experience in site master planning, construction cost estimates, storm sewer and retention design, sanitary sewer studies and design, and platting and design of public roadways. James works personally with government agencies, contractors and developers to make sure every project goes smoothly.

James is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He is a member of the Building Industry Association of Central Ohio.
 

Douglas Hock, P.S., Owner

Doug oversees all surveying services provided by the company and is the primary client contact for surveying. Doug has more than twenty years of both field and office experience preparing boundary and ALTA surveys, topographic surveys, annexation plats, subdivision plats, easement descriptions and construction staking. His expertise includes his knowledge of standards for easement preparation and property transfer, and Doug is certified by the Ohio Department of Transportation as a Right-of-Way Designer.

Throughout his career Doug has been the surveyor in charge of regional shopping malls, over 2000 units of multi-family development and all types of commercial and industrial construction staking. Doug has completed over 150 ALTA surveys throughout the State of Ohio.

Doug is a licensed surveyor in the State of Ohio and has completed undergraduate studies at The Ohio State University.

Michael Kane, P.E.

Regional Manager, North Carolina

Mike oversees Advanced Civil Design's North Carolina operations. He is also the technical standard administrator for the company. Mike has developed strict technical standards that help maintain a standard of quality for all design drawings produced by our staff. He has managed the design of many commercial and residential developments of diverse size and scope.

Mike is the primary client contact for our North Carolina office where he oversees the design and project management of all site development projects. Mike and his staff offer expertise in land planning, storm water management, waste water systems design, water distribution and land surveying.

Mike is a graduate of the University of Toledo with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He is the former Chairman of the Site Development Committee for the Greater Columbus Habitat for Humanity.
